The Body Shape or Plantilla

Elegant lines of the Bouchet plantilla

Robert Bouchet was primarily an impressionist painter, who started making guitars relatively late in life. Although he completed only about 130 instruments, they have been owned and played by many great guitarists; Julian Bream owned three.

Roy Courtnall, in his book, 'Making Master Guitars', says "Bouchet's guitars are noted for both their considerable volume their superb sustain, as well as their aesthetic beauty."

Extremely rare now, a 1966 Bouchet sold at auction recently for $122,500.
