Indian Rosewood
Because of the scarcity and price of Brazilian Rosewood, Indian Rosewood has now taken over as the general wood of choice for classical backs and sides.
Fortunately, I have been able to obtain the stock of a retiring luthier, and so have a good quantity of top quality sets - mostly over twenty years old.

Walnut
Walnut is becoming increasingly popular as a wood for back and sides. It works well and can hold a beautiful finish.
The tone produced from a walnut guitar is sometimes thought to be slightly softer than with rosewood, but this is anecdotal.
I have available to special order, a few sets of high quality figured english walnut from a tree which fell in the storm of 1987.
